On Dec 20, 2012 NASA published the development of an improvised space suit to be used by the astronauts who are on a Space mission. It is estimated that approximately 12 million dollars is spent for making one Space suit. Well that is quite huge money and why does NASA spend 12 Million $ on a space suit or in other words a dress to be worn by the Astronauts when they go on a space mission. What is gonna happen if the astronauts are going to do space walking without wearing a space suit???

The astronaut could become unconscious within 15 seconds, all the internal organs will expand and the body fluids will begin to boil, the body would be exposed to very high level of cosmic radiations intolerable by the body. The space suit envelops the astronaut’s body and gives him a suitable condition to survive and also acts as a buffer around the body to prevent it from being exposed to the extreme conditions that exist in Space.

King David when he was holding the highest office of the Nation would have also gone through tremendous pressure from all directions. Yet the scriptures reveal that he was a man after God’s own heart and also administered his nation very effectually. Psalm 139 was a chapter written by King David when he was the King of Israel. The key verse of Chapter 139 is,

Psalm 139:5

You encircle me from back to front, placing your hand upon me. (NIV)

You have hedged me behind and before, and laid your hand upon me. (KJV)

King David who was always craving for the presence of God infers through this verse that he is always enveloped inside the presence of God. Let’s understand the verse deeper, King David says that he is not exposed to the world’s extreme conditions directly but he is enveloped or protected or encircled by the thick presence of God. He is at ease or just chilling-out by being inside this suit which is purely made of God’s presence.

In our day-to-day activities and works we feel that the extremity of conditions that prevails around us is making us uncomfortable and make us feel like a suit-less astronaut who has gone on a space mission. Therefore most of us when we face such situations think to put our heads under cover just like an ostrich. Just like the astronaut who feels very comfortable inside a space suit, we must be comfortably dressed by the presence of God. “Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom 13:14)

As we begin every new day in this world, we might be anxious about what is there in store for me??? what is my everyday schedule for the upcoming days??? But do not worry because every day of ours has already been scheduled by God himself.

“You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe” Psalm 139:16 (Living Bible).

Let us learn to believe that God’s sovereignty directs all daily events in our life.

In the past Satan would have been buffeting you from the inside out and your life would have been marked by horrendous events but in this new season rise up to clothe yourself with the tremendous power of God that can navigate you when you walk through waters, through the rivers and through the fire (Isa 43:2). It is true that the economic situation of the world is crumbling and the entire world is moving from crisis to crisis but we need not focus on the crisis but set our eyes on the cross and on Christ who is the redeemer of the World.

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”  1 Cor 2:9
